The Ala Dag
Guide to walking, trekking and climbing in the Turkish mountains of the Ala Dag, describing climbs, walks and treks in the Cimbar and Kayacik valleys; the Yedi Gol, the Emli and Siyirma valleys; and the Kokorot and Kara Gol valleys. The Turkish mountains of the Ala Dag consist of five main valley systems. Each valley is narrow and steep sided with lots of hanging valleys. All have stunning walks and exciting climbs, and this guide describes them in detail for the first time for English-speaking walkers. The guide is divided into four sections, each with a comprehensive introduction and in addition there are complete notes on access to the regions, the geology and the history. The Ala Dag is sure to become a popular region with mountaineers. Although it is easily accessible, it still has an expeditionary feel about it.
