Madagascar Wildlife
This is a celebration of the unique fauna of this remarkable island. The authors are tour leaders who have visited Madagascar numerous times, introducing visitors to the amazing, beautiful and rare creatures, from lemurs to millipedes, which live in habitats ranging from rainforest to desert. Some 250 species are described and illustrated with over 200 colour photographs, making this book valuable both as a field guide and as a holiday souvenir.
Author's Note, by Hilary Bradt, Derek Schuurman, Nick Garbutt "The book answers the questions of all visitors to Madagascar; whether holidaymakers or serious naturalists. Madagascar may lie a mere 400 kilometres off the coast of Africa, but it is separated from it by millions of years of evolution: nature's private sanctuary. In compiling this book we have selected only the most interesting, appealing or beautiful animals, generally limiting our choice to those easily seen by visitors. And to help in the choice of places to visit, an introductory chapter describes the most accessible reserves and the key species likely to be seen there."
