In breve: Angkor, Cambodia is made up of hundreds of massive temples built over a period of 400 years from the 9th Century to the 13th. Now, as then, associated with Buddhism and pilgrimage, these ancient sites are peopled by this much awarded Magnum photographer, giving dimension to their immense size and far distant past. Orange Buddhist robes join with the world of carved gods, weathered masonry, tangled vegetation, huge tree roots and the everyday life of the region.
