In breve: Nel novembre 1999 Giuseppe Cederna parte con alcuni amici per il Nord-Ovest dell'India, zona meta di un pellegrinaggio hindu verso le sorgenti del fiume sacro per eccellenza, il Gange. Guidato da una serie di coincidenze, percorre in auto e a piedi la via delle Sorgenti e delle Confluenze.

In breve: La storia della tensione e dell'isolamento che si provano in 40 giorni di convivenza a due in condizioni critiche, fino alla grande gioia per il successo. Nonostante l'utilizzo di termini specialistici, il libro si presta ad essere letto anche dai "non-scalatori".

In breve: Strumento unico. Non so se ne è uscita una edizione aggiornata. Babicz ha prodotto un lavoro notevole ed utilissimo a chi si vuole avventurare in questa zona dell'Himalaya, affrontabile nel primo periodo estivo e spesso poco considerata per la relativa "scarsa altezza" delle vette.

In breve: Plus qu'à quiconque, il m'est difficile de juger "Himalaya, passion cruelle"; plus qu'à quiconque aussi il me plaît d'écrire sur ce livre tant il m'a semblé vivre à sa lecture les émotions de ces camarades partis à la conquête des hautes Cimes de la Nanda Devi.
